The Mermaid revolves around the renewal of internal spaces to create a more modern, spatial feel. The al-fresco terrace remains a key element to this project where the designers had aligned and opened up the kitchen, dining and living areas with a focus towards it. The nostalgic character of this double storey linked house is preserved with the re-use and up-cycling of doors, window frames, terrazzo floor and timber staircase while minimising the overall project cost.
