THE MERMAID

An intention of renewing the internal spaces to allow for a more modern spatial feel. Aligning and opening up the kitchen, dining, living and focus towards the open space al-fresco terrace was the key driver. Re-use and up-cycling of various components such as door, terrazzo floor, timber staircase, window frames was applied to both keep the cost down and retain the nostalgic character of the house.
